You have over 5 times as many jobs as workers so it has to import workers. , Then 3 rings of offices, and the outer ring of commerce. You have one ring of residential (smallest inner ring even) 6 lane roads are faster than 4 lane roads.ģ) Your zoning is terrible. I upgraded the crossroads in the circle to 6-lane two way to not onlt get rid of the center barrier, but increase the road speed. I bulldozed one ring and upgraded the other to a 2-lane, two-way road and traffic cleared up a bit.Ģ) You have 4-lane, 2-way roads that create a center barrier that prevents left turns which causes traffic to circle the block. There are many things wrong with this layout.ġ) you have made a double ring right next to each other causing a teeny, tiny, intersection between the two causing only one car to get through at a time. Then I notice the big ring road district. I bulldozed it and traffic cleared up a little bit. I then noticed a cargo train depot out in the middle of no where creating huge amounts of traffic across your city. I had a quick look and noticed a huge amount of traffic coming from one end of your city. One last point, space out junctions, you have a lot of places where they is maybe room for just one car or truck between junctions, this can cause lots f problems when traffic builds. What you see is what is happening, one of the beauties of C:S. The best way to see how your junctions are performing is to just watch the traffic. The angles between them can be oblique, they dont have to be at 90 degrees but as long as they can go straight across. The other is road junctions, never more that 4 roads meet and they must be able to drive straight across the junction. ![]() ![]() Just a few simple ideas to allow you to keep your basic road network as it is.Ī couple of tips though, always make roundabouts out of highways, this means no traffic lights and the traffic flows better. I also put in a "bypass" to go round your Hawthorne District. A couple of roundabouts and a simple highway junction with a roundabout. I have uploaded a couple of screenshots to show how you can facilitate better flow to/from highways.
